Focus on Women "Elizabeth Smart Lecture"
It was one of the most followed children's abduction cases of our time. From June 5, 2002 to March 12, 2003 Elizabeth Smart endured nine months of mind-bending control and horrific threats if she attempted to escape. Elizabeth survived this ordeal and is now one of the nation's leading advocates for change related to child abduction, recovery processes and national legislation. Through the Elizabeth Smart Foundation she continues to motivate parents, law enforcement and leaders worldwide to focus on children's safety. Elizabeth's life is a testament of life after a tragic event and her personal message of overcoming extreme adversity and making a difference in this world is truly inspirational.
This lecture will be followed by a meet and greet cocktail reception with Elizabeth Smart.
