"Our first three placements were newborns and they all eventually went home, but one of them came back into foster care after a few months and he brought his two older brothers with him. We were not prepared for the challenges of fostering older children but we were determined to give them whatever they needed, and keep these siblings together. 4KIDS Clinical Team jumped in right away to teach us all about trauma-informed care. Working as a team, we have helped our foster children learn new skills to meet their needs and form healthy, loving attachments. Watching our foster children begin to overcome their past and flourish in all areas has been the biggest "win" for us as foster parents. We know that whatever happens in their future, they have been given a strong foundation that will be theirs forever." - Nikki, 4KIDS Foster Parent

We encourage you to spend 10-15 minutes of non-directive, full attention time with your kids every day. No phones, no interruptions. Just intentional time that you’ve set aside to build attachment and relationship. Let your child lead the play time! By doing this consistently, you should see less outbursts or tantrums as well. “Either we spend time meeting children’s emotional needs by filling their cup with love, or we spend time dealing with the behaviors caused by their unmet needs. Either way, we spend the time.” – Pam Leo
The Glashower family is dedicated to helping kids be the best that they can be. "When one of our foster children first came to us they didn't have the reading skills needed to move on to the next grade, but through a lot of hard work, and encouragement, they passed their level. We are so thankful that we get the chance every day to open up our hearts and home to children who need love and a safe place to heal from the hurts they've experienced." It's reasons like this that make our 4KIDS foster parents champions for kids!
Last month, a newborn immediately went into the NICU for suspected chronic medical issues and was placed into foster care. Before being able to receive this child into their home, a 4KIDS family spent morning, noon, and evening by the baby's side in the hospital, assisting with feedings, blessing the hospital staff with care packages, and learning everything they could about providing the best quality of care for her medical needs. Now, one month since being discharged from the hospital, this precious infant has no signs of medical concerns! We are so thankful for families like these that go out of their way to show unconditional love and dedication to precious little ones.
